This piece’s life starts with the interaction with the public space. It was thought for a specific place, the labyrinth like and inclined alleys in Guanajuato city in México, the ideal course for this misshappen red ball to move on, descending for the gravity action, changing the perception of time and space of those beholding or listening as the sculpture passes by.
As the sculpture moves through it’s twisted path of irregular surface adapts it’s shape to the terrain texture slipping down to the lower levels of the city.
The descending sculpture has been recorded on video.

Rigor Mortis

Rigor Mortis

Rigor Mortis took place in a left and old textil factory, first in Latin America. One of the places inside this factory was full of old accumulated objects during the years, like old wood, machinery spare parts and others. The proposal was making an intervention with all these forgotten elements, installing several pneumatic devices, motors and a main electronic system which is able to move the objects, striking among them, generating visual and sonorous passed over around all the space. All about this is to remain the still movement and life of the factory after even left.

These are some visual and functional anomalies thinking about the compulsive growth of the cities. The urban cancer is an accelerated, disordered and uncontrolled proliferation of diferent kind of elements in the public space which invade locally and remote, other healthy elements of the surroundings. These anomalies took body through interventions in the public space documented photographically, such as a post of the public lighting system that presents an excessive multiplication of lights and the deformation of a white line on the street pavement caused by the exaggerated increase of its length.
